The Consulate General of France in Miami in partnership with the Honors College of Florida International University, and the MEUCE, would like to inform you that the Consul General, Mr. Philippe Létrilliart, awarded the insignias of “Chevalier dans l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur” (Knight in the National Order of the Legion of Honor”*) to U.S. veterans who fought alongside France during World War II at FIU on April 4th, 2014

Schedule

2:00 PM
Veterans met with Honors College France students (closed to public) Students of Professor Bailly’s Study Abroad course had an hour-long meet-and-greet session with the veterans in an open discussion format


3:00 PM Formal ceremony (open to media)


Formal ceremony to begin with FIU’s Honors College’s acapella group singing the US National Anthem. Honors student Kamila Manzueta will sing the national anthem of France, with background vocals provided by the acapella group. 4:00 PM: Reception (open to media)
