The Miami-Florida Jean Monnet Center of Excellence at the European and Eurasian Studies is organizing many activities this Spring 2016
The Netherlands will take over the Presidency of the European Union (officially of the Council), as part of a rotating system amongst the EU member states. In the first half of 2016 Dutch diplomats will chair countless meetings in the Brussels bubble (and in Amsterdam), while ministries, cities, companies and NGOs organise a range of events in the lowlands.
Join local and international scholars to reflect on how we have lived with water now and in the past, in Miami, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands and the ocean in between. How can we imagine living with water in the future? How can our local experience of coastal co-existence with the sea inspire an awareness of our common global interconnections?
Under the framework of the Jean Monnet Project, we are going to organize three high profile panel discussions with European experts on Innovation and Research in Spring 2016. The 3rd one will be on “Water, Sustainability & Climate Change: "The use and misuse of water resources"
Recognition Award Ceremony for FIU students who obtained their Undergraduate and Graduate Certificates in European & Eurasian Studies in Spring 2016.
