A moderated discussion with French Minister Franck Riester on how to relaunch the Transatlantic trade and investment cooperation

About this event

After a period of heightened tensions in international trade relations, driven by concerns about the viability of the multilateral trading system, the US and EU have embarked on new efforts to coordinate on key global technology, economic, and trade issues through the newly launched Transatlantic Trade and Technology Council. Yet such efforts at trade and investment cooperation also have a clear strategic intent. Europe and the United States are keen to set global standards in high technology sectors, supply chain resilience and avoiding unnecessary trade barriers, while also ensuring to rely on technology in the fight against climate change and protecting their interests against practices from non-market economies. French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, Franck Riester, and Professor Michelle Egan will discuss these themes and more during a moderated discussion, which will include a Q&A session.
