The EU Policy on Digitization (of Art Collections)

Description
EU Cultural Policy: Beyond Masters and Museums

Digital technologies and the internet are radically transforming perceptions and uses of Cultural Heritage within societies. Virtual reality, artificial intelligence, 3D modelling, geomatics applied to cultural heritage create unprecedented opportunities for public access and participation in cultural heritage. At the same time, they represent a new frontier for institutions. Thanks to technology, they can now engage in new cultural and business opportunities by reaching out to new users and developing new content for leisure and education.

This Workshop will illustrate the technologies available for Cultural Heritage and assess both their potential and risks within the European Union policy framework in this sector.
