July 1 - December 31, 2025

Denmark holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU from July 1st to December 31st, 2025. It is the eighth time Denmark has held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Its motto is "A strong Europe in a changing world."

Denmark joined the European Union in 1973 and has been an active member of the European project ever since.

The Danish Presidency has two overarching priorities:

• A secure Europe and
