Friday, December 6, 2013: One day seminar - Euro Challenge Competition Student Orientation

Students and teachers from 10 high schools will be attending the orientation. These schools will be participating in the Euro Challenge Competition 2014.

An official from the Delegation of the European Union in Washington D.C., Ben Carliner, Senior Economists, Economic & Financial Affairs, Delegations of the European Union to the USA will lecture on the topic: "Competition Overview", "From Europe to the Euro", "The Current Economic Situation in the Euro Area", and "Economic Challenges in the Euro Area"

This is the 7th year that the Miami-Florida European Union Center of Excellence is in charge of recruiting high schools and organizing the competition in Florida.

In 2014, its ninth year, the Euro Challenge will continue to expand nationally, with more than 100 teams from various regions in the United States expected to compete for monetary awards generously provided by The Moody’s Foundation. The Euro Challenge is a program launched by the Delegation of the European Union to the United States in partnership with The Moody’s Foundation and with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York serving as program advisor. The program is supported by Credit Suisse, the University of North Carolina, Florida International University, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Illinois, the University of Texas at Austin, Rutgers University, George Washington University, Indiana University, the University of Wisconsin, the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, the DC World Affairs Council, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland (Pittsburgh Branch), the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and Detroit Branch.
