Essay Topic
With their focus on “Refugee Integration Compared: Germany, Europe, and the US” the German Embassy’s 2017-2018 Campus Weeks are devoted to discussing Germany’s integration policies. For a few years now, Europe is experiencing a great influx of refugees. Germany has taken in the largest amount overall. While this is both a great challenge but also an opportunity, it will need to be managed appropriately, in particular with regards to the social and economic integration of refugees. Looking at Germany’s overall experience of the recent influx of refugees, what lessons can be learned for other countries in Europe, and the US? The German Embassy’s Campus Weeks offer an exciting opportunity for American students to discuss these and many other questions.
