PICASSO policy webinar "Cybersecurity and its impact on EU/US ICT collaboration"
One objective of the PICASSO project is to bring forward policy recommendations designed to improve EU/US ICT-orientated collaborations, specifically in the technological domains associated with 5G networks, Big Data, and IoT/CPS. One of the biggest challenges concerns cybersecurity – a subject that touches us all yet with a specific role for governments in terms of the monopoly for upholding the law, and recognising the increasingly-fraught bone of contention in the government sphere, where national governments and supranational governance entities tussle over criminal justice, national security and other vital national interests.
The webinar will discuss and refine policy recommendations designed to improve EU/US ICT-orientated collaborations - specifically in three technological domains: 5G networks; Big Data; and the Internet of Things/Cyberphysical systems (IoT/CPS). The focus is on the implications of technological developments for cybersecurity policy, taking into account the different approaches towards cybersecurity being taken in the USA and in Europe, the technical and socio-economic backgrounds and new developments likely to affect the security and vulnerability of ICT systems.
The participatory and interactive webinar will validate initial conclusions based on a policy briefing on Cybersecurity and its impact on EU/US ICT Policy collaboration prepared by the PICASSO ICT Policy Expert Group, available in the next two weeks in PICASSO website.
To discuss, validate, and refine our findings, we will hold an interactive webinar to which you are warmly invited. The details are:
