As part of our public diplomacy EU-grant 'Getting to know Europe', Yovita Ivanova, European expert on climate change, economy and resilience, will meet with the Miami-Dade community at large on Oct. 1st, 2019. Ms. Ivanova will make a presentation titled “Climate Change: Risks and Opportunities for Businesses”.

ImageYovita Ivanova is a Bulgarian-born researcher based in Lima, Peru. She is an economist (MA in Economics from the Economic University in Sofia, Bulgaria) and a sustainable development s pecialist (MA in International Relations from the University of Miami, US) with an extensive professional background in Europe, North and South America in areas related to climate change and economy. She has held various government positions (adviser to the VM of Agriculture in Peru, coordinator of the Alternative Development Section of the Peruvian Anti-drug Agency, and others) and worked as a consultant for various UN agencies. Currently, Yovita is Country Manager at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) and a professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). She is also a coordinator for the BMU Project “Business models to address deforestation in the Amazon rainforest”.
