2018 FIU WATER AND ENVIRONMENT SECURITY CONFERENCE
Sept. 17-18, 2018
FIU-Miami
During 17th-18th September, 2018, a two-day conference on Water and Environment Security was organized by FIU Institute of Water and Environment at Florida International University, Miami. Along these two days, university-wide centers, research programs, scientists, and engineers met at FIU to tackle regional, national and global water and environmental issues, through interdisciplinary research and cutting-edge technology.
The conference served as a platform for the formal presentation of the newly established UNESCO Sustainable Water Security Chair at Florida International University (FIU). The event brought together international experts on water and environment in an effort to address regional, national and global water and environmental security issues. It highlighted global challenges and opportunities, including special sessions dedicated to Africa, the Caribbean and Latin America.
Miami-Florida Jean Monnet Center of Excellence Associate Director Christine I. Caly-Sanchez was proud and honored to participate and be the "Challenges and Opportunities in Europe and North America" Session Chair.
